I am not really new - but I don't think that I every really introduced myself. My name is Sandy and I live in WA state. I love to cook and especially bake. I am 63 years old and a grandma. I collect recipes and cookbooks. My interest right now is mastering braiding bread dough. Before that it was sourdough. Anybody else?
Hello Sandy, my name is Mimita, and as you do, I love to cook & especially invent news recipes. I'm 23 years old. I am writting a memoire on the significance of cuisine/cooking for American people in general. So I wanted to know about your view on the subject.
What is the meaning of cooking for you? How do you feel about it? Thank you in advance for your answer.
Hello Everyone, my name is Denay and I am a cooking instructor. I am always looking for new techniques and recipe to teach my students. I am a true "foodie" and food historian. I live in the south so I am accustomed to good food and lots of favor. I am in the autumn of my life and enjoy making new friends, cooking, reading, going to the movies, taking tea and traveling.
Cooking is one of the most creative things a person can do in life, besides perhaps baking!

Hi Everyone, I'm new here, My name's Cynthia I'm a 53 yr old retiree. Due to a medical disability stemming from metastatic breast cancer which is stable.( Meaning not in remission but it's not spreading either.) I'm very married to my other half going on 27 yrs, no kids ( God said no to that ) except for a cat & a dog who are my kids. If anyone has recipes for two let me know, it would be much appreciated.
I stumbled into this site while surfing for some recipes and found it very helpful because of the step by step pictures. I just found passion in cooking and baking a few months back as I suddenly became a stay home mom. I have never baked a cake nor bread before, never cooked anything that look and taste good. I had to enroll myself in a local cooking school and took up various cooking classes and since then, I have been cooking and baking no end. Today, i tried my hand on making "Sausage Bun" (my first bread baking), recipe courtesy of sherry817, my husband and sons thought i bought it in a bakeshop. The buns were gone even before they cooled, same happened when i tried making "Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies". Seeing the clean cooling rack just made my efforts very gratifying.
Thank you for those who so graciously shared and made effort to share the step by step pictures for us beginner's cook. It really helps.
My own recipe? It's very embarrassing but i dont have any for now, maybe with the help of this site, i will become a better cook and be more confident to create my favorite dish. But I have suggested your site to my friends and in laws, who I am pretty sure, will be thrilled with this site as I am.
Just to let you know and anyone else who may be unaware, a recipe doesn't have to be "yours" in order to take pictures of it being cooked and then post it to the site. It can be from any cookbook or site. The only thing you can't do is copy any creative wording of a recipe. So the text has to be in your own words. "Add 4 tablespoons of butter. Bake at 450 ... etc is not creative wording. "My mom made these chips for us when we were kids, they are fantastic, first take 4 tablespoons of butter..... would be creative wording".
