Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies

Intro
This recipe makes a little less than 2 dozen cookies and can easily be doubled if you are in need of many cookies.
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 5 tablespoons vegetable shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line your cookie sheets with parchment paper (or those fancy silicon mat things if you have them) for easy clean up later. (You can just bake directly on an un-greased cookie sheet, but I like to have to wash as few dishes as possible).
Step 2
Mix the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt together in a small bowl and set aside.
Step 3
Cream the butter, vegetable shortening and sugar together. I recommend using the Crisco sticks of shortening for easy measurement marks right there on the wrapper.
Step 4
Step 5
Step 6
Step 7
Scoop the dough out and form into small balls (or get an easy to use cookie scooper). Drop the dough balls into some powdered sugar...
Step 8
Step 9
Place the dough balls on the cookie sheets a few inches apart. (Granulated sugar can be used here if you don't have powdered). Bake in your 350 degree preheated oven for 12-15 minutes. Check them frequently because they can go from just right to burnt in a minute.
Step 10
Allow the chocolate chocolate chip cookies to cool before gorging yourself. Enjoy!
