Ingredients:

Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe picture 12 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) melted butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups (12 oz, or 1 small pack) chocolate chips
1 cup nuts (If you want to)

Preheat your oven to 375F.

First, we put the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl. Mix it all together.

Step 1:

Step 2:

Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe picture 3Chop the butter into a few small pieces (about 1Tbsp each, so 8 chunks per stick), put them in a small bowl, and cover it with plastic wrap. Put it in the microwave for a few seconds, until it's just starting to melt. In my microwave, this took about 30 seconds.

Step 3:

Step 4:

Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe picture 5Brown sugar has a nasty habit of absorbing water from the air, so you need to make sure it's in a tightly sealed container, rather than an open ziplock bag. Breaking these clumps can be a real pain, I ended up using a pair of pliers on some of the harder ones.

Step 5:

Step 6:

Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe picture 7When it looks like this, it's time to add the eggs. Add one egg, mix it in well, then add the other egg and mix it in, too. You can still kind of see some clumps in my brown sugar here, but they got mixed out eventually.

Step 7:

Step 8:

Step 9:

step-by-step recipe photos 10The batter should look like this when it's all done. It shouldn't be gooey, but it should stick to itself pretty well. Feel free to taste a bit of the batter and make sure it's good.

Step 10:

Step 11:

Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe photos 12You should be able to get 16 cookies on a large cookie sheet.

Step 12:

Step 13:

Step 14:
